Two Years Ago

Exactly two years ago, I was climbing Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock, AR. On the way up, I had no clue what was about to happen. When we got to the top, I looked out at this...

Standing beside this man...Turned around (once he was ready) to see this...And the next thing I knew, had this on my finger...
Isn't it amazing all that can change in just 2 short years?! Besides accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1992, the next best decision I've ever made was agreeing to spend the rest of my life with Daniel Riley Bramlett! I am so thankful for him, and I am so thankful the Lord chose to bless us with a son!

Speaking of our son, I went for my 36-week appointment today. From now until Riley's born, I will go every week for a check-up. The best news I received while at the dr.'s office was that I only gained 1 pound in the past 2 1/2 weeks! Yippee!!! My blood pressure was a little bit elevated (more so than it has been, but still in the "normal" range), so they're going to keep an eye on that, but everything else looked great! She checked to see if I was dilated at all, and in her words, "well, there's nothing going on yet!" I asked if my cervix felt even a little soft (sorry if this is TMI for some of you!), and she said, "no, there's just really nothing going on." Oh well! I guess Riley is enjoying his home inside my belly! She said this is totally normal for a first child...they usually come around or after their due dates. Please, Riley, come sometime this month!!! Your mama does not want to head into August (HOT, HOT, HOT!) still pregnant! :)

I'll go back next Thursday for an appointment...maybe there will be some progression by then! One can always hope! For now, though, if any of you were wondering what fruit the little man resembles, this week it's a "crenshaw melon." I've never heard of this type of melon before, but I feel it's quite appropriate since lately I've been eating watermelon, honeydew melon, and cantaloupe like it's going out of style! Love those melons! :)

We found out today that our offices are closing tomorrow at noon, so I'm VERY excited about having an EXTENDED weekend! Hope you all have a great 4th of July!
