#932 - He spoke

My heart is heavy right now. I know some awesome families who are currently going through very difficult situations. The two families I'm most focused on in prayer are in no way related to each other, and the mountains they're facing are very different. But, they are mountains, no less. As I was reading in the Word today, the Lord showed me Psalm 33. I love the entire Psalm, but here's what jumped out at me today...

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; He puts the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him!

For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.

Psalm 33:6-9

He speaks. That's it! He doesn't have to come up with some magic potion. He doesn't have to swirl His hand around the world 5 times and then snap. He doesn't have to beg angels to run around chanting some crazy statement. HE SPEAKS. That's all it takes for circumstances to change. So, why do we worry? If the God of the Universe who simply SPOKE and an entire world was created is the SAME God who loves us and desires to control our lives, why do we fret?

Thank you, Lord, that You still speak today! Oh God, please SPEAK life and truth into these families today! May Your name ALONE be glorified!
