Last night I went with my friend, Shannon, to an informational meeting about a women's conference that's coming to New Orleans in 2010 (more on this later in the post). On the way to the church, Shannon mentioned that she read in a recent post the prayer request about who would keep Riley. I realized then that I needed to update you all on the plan! Daniel and I have been praying for months about what to do once his grandmother went back to Arkansas, and the Lord faithfully showed us this past Monday night. It was very late and we were discussing our different options when I finally said, "what if I just quit my job?" I assumed the answer would be an immediate "no," but surprisingly, Daniel said, "you can do that." I couldn't believe my ears! So we then discussed in detail what that would mean for our family and how we would survive. We came up with a plan, and without boring you with all the details, I'm going to work three more weeks full-time and then I'll go part-time until my boss hires someone to take my place. After that, I'll be a stay-at-home-mom! I'm still in shock that it's working out so smoothly for me to do this! I don't know why I'm surprised the Lord revealed His plan in His time...has He ever left me hanging before?! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Maybe one day I'll truly walk by FAITH knowing He is in complete control! Thank you so much for praying! Daniel and I really appreciate your support by lifting up our needs to the Lord.
Now, back to last night's event...
Have you ever heard of Jennifer Rothschild? The first time I heard her speak was at a Women of Faith conference in 2005. I was blown away! I then read a couple of her books and just recently participated with some friends in one of her Bible studies, Me, Myself and Lies. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G study! I highly recommend it for all women...young and old! So anyway, Jennifer is coming to New Orleans April 9-10, 2009 to lead her Fresh Grounded Faith Conference. The meeting Shannon and I attended last night was for area churches to come together to learn more about the conference and find out ways to promote it in their churches and neighborhoods. The best part about the whole night was we were able to talk with Jennifer live through Skype! It was so neat to hear her heart for women and the Word. There was also a question and answer time, in which I successfully embarrassed my friend, Shannon. :) Anyway, if you're interested in learning more about the Fresh Grounded Faith conference and the cities involved in 2010, go here. Only the Lord knows where the Bramlett's will be in April 2010, but if we're still here, I definitely plan on being a part of this exciting event!
Oh, Laura, I'm sp happy for you. I know most of us hope to be able to stay at home with our children. I'm so glad that it worked out for you. I'll be praying as you make the transition.
ReplyDeleteHey Laura! What an exciting post! I've been thinking/praying about your situation ever since you shared that you didn't have anyone lined up to care for Riley yet. I'm so glad that the Lord provided in such an awesome way!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! I'm so glad that you will be able to stay at home. What a great answer to prayer!! I too have such a hard time sometimes trusting God to take care of us. Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful to be with for the fgf kick off Laura. Excited about coming to New Orleans. We'll have the NEW ORLEANS website posted this next week with downloadable and embed code for videos. Blessings. Philip and Jennifer Rothschild
